Goat Rocks Camping Trip - June 2015

The hike begins! Experimenting with long exposure photography The sole of Varun's hiking boot started to fall off, so he came up with this solution. About 2/3rds of the way through the first day we stopped at a camp site, started a fire, and grilled various sausages. David realized the best way to put out the fire was to just put the log in a nearby pond. Most delicious water ever! We camped at Goat Lake, which is just above the waterfall to the left. Our campsite. Mount Adams is in the background. The big dipper. Not only did Varun sleep in a bivy, but he set up his tripod so he could take pictures of the sunrise with minimal effort. Making breakfast Continuing to make breakfast Delicious oatmeal! Can you spot our campsite? Varun and David cooking breakfast. David brought a solar panel, and now I want one too. Mount Rainier. On the way back, we decided to ditch our gear and hike to Hawkeye Point. You can kind of see Mount Saint Helens in the background. Back to civilization!
