Nice 2016

Not included in this gallery is a panorama of Nice I took, which can be found here (14 MB warning): https://jsaxton.com/static_images/nice.jpg

Our Airbnb was located in this building, which our host said was likely ~400 years old. Much larger than the Paris airbnb! We had a real kitchen and everything In order to get to the bedroom/bathroom, we had to climb up these very steep stairs. The bedroom wasn't super big, but it was nice enough. The view from our airbnb In the square outside our airbnb, there was a fish market in the morning. It attracted a lot of birds. We stayed in Old Nice, which has existed for several hundred years and has lots of narrow winding streets. We climbed to the top of this hill to get views of Nice. More of Old Nice More of Old Nice Wine is expensive in Europe. I was paranoid about getting pickpocketed and losing all our pictures, so I brought a USB hub, flexible USB keyboard, USB drive, and an SD card reader. I could then use my phone to back up all of our pictures on a regular basis. The croissants in Nice weren't as good as the ones in Paris. Day trip to Monaco! All the restaurants in Monaco were super expensive, so we went to a reasonably priced grocery store to purchase stuff for sandwiches. To our surprise, all grocery store employees were wearing suits. Outside the Monte Carlo. A Liberian Maserati outside of the Monte Carlo. I believe CD in this context means "corps diplomatique". Another look at the Monte Carlo I went inside and played some European Roulette, which doesn't have the 00 that US Roulette tables have. I ended up winning 25 Euro! A park near our airbnb My favorite appetizer all trip. It was the first course of a three course meal, and they gave you a giant charcuterie board, and you could basically eat as much meat as you wanted, then give the board back to the waiter. It's really sad that this model wouldn't work in the United States. A meat market in Old Nice I wish I could buy fresh pasta this cheaply in the United States The beach in Nice doesn't have sand, only rocks. Hanging out at the beach A croque monsieur! Bought it for like 2 euro at a bakery, then took it back to the airbnb. So tasty. Enjoying dinner in Old Nice
